Healthy habits that are sustainable over time

Talking about healthy habits should not create pressure or demands. Taking care of yourself is not a race or an endless list of rules, but a living process that adapts to each stage, each pace, and each body. The habits that really last over time are those that are built on listening, flexibility, and respect.

1. Start by laying the groundwork, not by changing everything

One of the most common mistakes is wanting to transform your diet and lifestyle all at once. Sudden changes are rarely sustainable. Instead, when we start by observing how we eat, how we feel, and what we need, we open up a space for understanding that facilitates more natural and lasting changes.

2. Mindful eating: listen to yourself again

Mindful eating is not about eating “perfectly,” but about reconnecting with your internal signals: hunger, satiety, pleasure, and satisfaction. Eating slowly, without distractions, respecting your body's rhythms, improves digestion and is a form of self-care.

3. Habits that fit your life

A habit is only sustainable if it fits into your real daily life. Not your ideal life. Not what you “should” be doing. The key is to design flexible routines that can accompany you even on days when you have little time, changes of plans, or less energy. Eating well doesn't mean cooking complex recipes or following rigid structures. Sometimes it means choosing simple, nutritious, and comforting options that sustain you.

4. Self-care is also emotional

Our relationship with food is deeply linked to how we talk to ourselves and how we treat ourselves. Self-care includes letting go of guilt, self-imposed demands, and constant judgment. Building healthy habits means learning to treat yourself with more kindness, accepting moments of imbalance, and understanding that they are part of the process.

5. Support: you don't have to do it alone

Sometimes it's not the information that makes the difference, but the support. Having a space where you can review how you feel, adjust guidelines, and feel supported allows the process to evolve with you.
