Basic and Comforting Porridge

Some mornings don’t need something elaborate. They need something warm, simple, and grounding. This creamy peanut butter porridge is one of those breakfasts that supports you quietly. It’s soft, easy to digest, and balanced in a way that helps keep energy more stable through the morning.

Oats provide complex carbohydrates and fiber to support digestion and gut health. Peanut butter adds healthy fats and a little protein, making the bowl more satisfying and steady. Cinnamon brings warmth, not just in flavor, but in feeling.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about starting the day in a way that feels supportive.

Ingredients

  • 50 g rolled oats

  • 250 ml milk or plant-based milk

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon honey, maple syrup, or sugar (optional)

  • 1 pinch of salt

Optional toppings: sliced banana, berries, nuts, chia seeds.

Preparation

Cook the oats with the milk, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt over medium heat.
Stir gently for 5–7 minutes until creamy, adjusting the texture to your liking.

Stir in the peanut butter and sweeten if needed.
Serve warm and add whichever toppings feel good that day.

Sit down while you eat. Let it be warm. That’s part of the nourishment.
